SHERIDAN, WY – The Crow Nation will be offering a mountain blessing at the upcoming Antelope Butte Ski and Recreation Area, to help kick of next week’s 2nd annual Summer Festival. The traditional ceremony will include drummers, dancers, a medicine man and other members of the Crow Nation.

Antelope Butte Foundation, a non-profit entity working towards reopening the ski area as a year-round recreation area, is hosting the second annual Antelope Butte Summer Festival, as a fundraiser to help purchase the assets at Antelope Butte, and to showcase its idyllic setting in the Big Horn Mountains.

“We recognize that the Crow people have a long history and a strong spiritual connection with these sacred mountains,” says ABF Board President Mark Weitz. “Beyond the upcoming ceremony, we look forward to developing a strong partnership with our friends to the North, so that we all can enjoy the health benefits and personal revitalization that comes from recreating and spending time in this special high country.”

The Mountain Blessing is scheduled to begin at 10 am on Saturday, July 18 and is expected to last approximately an hour. All members of the public and media are invited to attend.  Music and a variety of events are scheduled throughout the weekend.

Tickets for the festival are $10 for adults and $25 for families. All proceeds will go towards the reopening of the Antelope Butte Ski and Recreational Area.
