Good evening, Sheridanites! We bring tidings of fun times and mountain air, this weekend. The Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced the official trail opening and after party for a brand new two-mile section of trail up the mountain. The first 50 volunteers even get a free t-shirt! And anyone else who participates, (or not) is invited to the Big Horn Smokehouse after the event for food and drinks. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday to us. Here’s all the info you need, from the email bulletin (and make sure to check out their Facebook page!) :
Celebrate National Public Lands Day as we complete and open complete and officially open two miles of new trail! The first 50 volunteers receive either a National Park Service day-pass or a 2015 National Public Lands Day t-shirt.

Saturday, September 26th
Volunteers Needed – Many Ways to Help
Help us put the finishing touches on the new trails.
2 pm – 4 pm: Timber Bridge Installation led by Jason Szewc
2 pm – 5 pm: Hike the trails and help trudge the last section.
3 pm – 5 pm: Native Plant Education and Restoration led by Steve Dudley and Vistara Parham
5 pm – Dark: Bike the trails
*Due to the high number of volunteers anticipated, please note bikes are allowed only after 5 pm.
After Party
6 pm – Late – Head down to the Big Horn Smokehouse afterward for food and drinks on the patio. Can’t make it up to the trail? Join us at the Smokehouse!
Directions
From Big Horn, take Red Grade Road south west 7.5 miles to the “Upper” State parking area. Check in with us for your map and your free gift!
