It’s hard to beat beer. It’s also hard to make beer out of beets. More to the point, local Sheridan business Blacktooth Brewing has improved on the already winning formula of beer by making it benefit others. Every Tuesday, Blacktooth has a night where for every beer sold, $1 is donated to charity. Recently, Blacktooth has donated almost $400 to the Food Group of Sheridan, a local grassroots project established to help hungry children. Started by a local concerned mom, the Food Group works to provide food for Sheridan kids who before had been forced to go without. Missi Hubert, the Executive Director of the Food Group, said, “We bridge the gap between the Friday free lunch and the Monday free breakfast so that kids can come to school Monday morning ready to learn.” On September 10th, the Food Group will be hosting a fundraising “Throttle Fest” hosted by Peak Powersports, featuring a show and shine for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and vintage sleds, food from Bighorn Smokehouse, a live band, beer (of course) and a raffle where you could not only help a noble cause but also have shot at winning a 2016 Yamaha Bolt. Blacktooth will also continue with its charitable ventures, a way, according to employee Jesse Woods to “Give back to the community that has given us so much.”
