Green Boomerang to Take Over Old Dan’s Building

Biketober Fest~Open Brand Partnership~

Downtown is one of the most iconic locations in Sheridan, and it’s always exciting to watch it grow and to see new businesses pop up. We’re happy to bring you some info from the Downtown Sheridan Association’s Facebook page about a business that’s coming to Main Street soon! For more info, and to stay up to date on what’s happening, head on over to their Facebook page.

“The Downtown Sheridan Association and Sheridan Senior Center today announced the purchase of the Dan’s Western Wear Building by Phoenix Limited to be used for the Green Boomerang/Sheridan Senior Center.

“This site had been vacant for almost a decade,” noted DSA Executive Director Beth Holsinger. “Years ago, we removed the old Dan’s sign which was becoming unsightly, and were looking to develop an entrepreneurial center. However, we are happy to have this beautiful building owned by a private entity and being put to a very beneficial use.”

Carmen Rideout, executive director of the Sheridan Senior Center, says moving their thrift shop to 226 N. Main is extraordinary. “It’s exciting to bring the Green Boomerang to Main Street. This will allow us to expand and extend our hours. We’re looking to have the store be more like a boutique than a Thrift Shop. We will also be looking for additional volunteers.”

Holsinger explains that the DSA Design Committee, which works with downtown businesses for the facades of their buildings, will be working with an architect to plan exterior renovations for the building.

The store will open when renovations are completed, possibly around the first of next year.”
