Started in 1976, Habitat for Humanity is an international nonprofit organization whose mission statement reads, “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” An admirable goal, and one with which our local chapter has taken and run with.
Last Tuesday, Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns was presented with a check for $50,000 by Thrivent Financial, which will go towards a home for the Peak family. The event, hosted at Luminous Brewhouse, was set to kick off a promising build year for HHEB and provide funds for the three other homes currently on their roster.
Executive Director Christine Christopherson had this to say: “We’re able to do what we do because of our donors and our support system. We’re very grateful for everyone who has helped us get to this point and we look forward to providing our services for years to come.”
