Seattle native and out-of-town friend-bordering-on-acquaintance (whose name has been changed to Jane Doe to protect her anonymity) has been confronted with quite the culture shock during her two week trip to Sheridan. Not accustomed to the begrudging coexistence Sheridanites share with the local wildlife, Doe has spent a majority of her time here with her face eagerly pressed against a passenger-side window like a child at a candy store, oohing and awing at the deer that stand around in our yards like they own the place. Doe was quoted as saying, “They just, like, stand there!”, unaware of her driver’s dramatic eye-rolling. Whether Jane will learn to ignore the local fauna like the rest of us remains to be seen.
