Sheridan Physical Therapy – Serving Sheridan Since 1995

When asked why he chose to pursue a career in physical rehabilitation, Sheridan Physical Therapy co-owner Kent Sherwood said, “I was about ten years old… I remember watching my grandmother receive PT when she had a total knee. I remember watching the physical therapists putting her in the parallel bars and working with her, and I remember thinking ‘I might wanna do that.’”

Studying in Reno, Kent was able to work with his same grandmother when she had another similar operation. After earning his degree, he and his wife Kati started in the dual roles of therapist and secretary, with just the two of them working in the old Taylor School with 300 square feet in which to practice.

Founded in 1995 by the Sherwoods, Sheridan Physical Therapy boasts a lengthy history of service to the people of Sheridan. They employ over 30 rehabilitation specialists in Sheridan and Buffalo.

The most rewarding aspect of their jobs according to both Kati and Kent is, simply put, seeing their patients make progress. “It’s exciting when someone comes in with a difficulty or deficit, and you help them get back to their normal way of life,” said Kati, who specializes in speech language pathology.

Throughout their tenure in Sheridan, the Sherwoods and their employees have helped hundreds of Sheridanites through a myriad of health issues, each of which is tackled with care and professionalism. “We really just want people to know we’re here. Whether it’s with us or not, our mission statement in a nutshell is to get you the best physical therapy we can.”
