TSA to return to Sheridan County Airport

~CONTENT POWERED BY ANTELOPE BUTTE FOUNDATION~

Flying is great, isn’t it? The Wright Brothers, those industrious patriots, looked up at the simple majesty of the bird and the flying squirrel and thought “Why should they have all the fun?” So they tipped a building on its side, tacked wings on it and threw it to the mercy of the open air. Fast forward 113 years and the miracle of flight has found its way back to Sheridan. We can soar among the clouds, shake hands with the sun and look upon this earth as only gods before us have been able to. Or we can sit in a metal tube and arrive safely to Denver. It all really depends on your perspective.

There have been some changes to the rules for these big metal birds as it relates to Sheridan, though. Our pipeline to the outside world is the grand ol’ city of Denver, Colorado, and as such we play by their rules. If you’re flying out of Sheridan to Denver, it’s advised that you show up a bit earlier than you might have before.

Before, the ticket counter would ask you “Might you be carrying any bombs?” and you would answer earnestly. You’d get on a plain, fly to Denver, get off the plane, get on a shuttle, go to the front of DIA and they would do a more thorough check as to whether or not you indeed had something you shouldn’t.

Now, you go through security in Sheridan and the whole thing is a lot less painful. That’s what we’re about in good ol’ Sheridan, Wyoming. Efficiency. The Denver Air Connection ticket counter is open 3 hours prior to departure. If you’re arriving, carry-on luggage will make your transition into Denver much easier. So rejoice, Sheridan!  DIA Info
