SHERIDAN, WY – Sheridan-based non-profit Antelope Butte Foundation (ABF) is hosting their second annual Summer Festival this summer. Building off the success of last summer’s event, there will be various food and beverage services, events and competitions, morning yoga, kid’s activities and live music from eight different bands.

The event kicks off Friday night at 7:30 pm with live bluegrass by Shot in the Foot. Plenty of on-site camping is available at $10 per site for both nights, and is encouraged.  Porta-potties will be available, but not running water.

Located at 8,400 feet in the Big Horn Mountains of northern Wyoming, the currently closed ski area provides an ideal location to host summer events.

The festival is designed as a fundraiser, as well as to showcase the potential of summer activities at Antelope Butte, like mountain biking and trail running.  “The base area is gorgeous, in July it is a field of wildflowers” said ABF President Mark Weitz, “So we are offering up family-friendly summer fun in an idyllic setting”.

Tickets are $10 per person, kids 12 and under are free. Proceeds will go to the Antelope Butte Foundation, whose goal is to reopen and transform the dormant ski area into a four-season sustainable ski and recreation center.

The Summer Festival will include a variety of running, biking and duathalon competitions, as well as kiddie activities.  For more information and to register for events, please visit http://www.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=3089

Fremont Toyota Sheridan has signed on as the title sponsor and additional sponsorship opportunities for the event are available. ContactAndrew@antelopebuttefoundation.org for more information.

“Like skiing, this a fun event suitable for all ages,” Weitz said. “We invite everyone to come on up and spend a weekend in the beautiful Big Horns, and help support a great cause.”
