According to local meteorologist William Bonney, citizens should not be worried about the phenomenon of atmospheric water vapor frozen into ice crystals falling in light white flakes to the surface of Earth. “Snowfall is a fascinating occurrence and completely natural in the Rocky Mountain region of North America,” Bonney assured.

Bonney, who earned his PhD in Hydrology at the University of Antelope Butte Ski Area, stated that there is precedence for the event. “Snow has fallen each winter in Wyoming since the state’s admission to the Union in 1890, and studies even suggest that snow likely fell in the region prior to that. It’s really fascinating.”

“The public should not be worried,” Bonney assured regarding Sheridan County residents’ concerns. “Snow can actually be quite enjoyable. Individuals can lie down in it and create celestial beings, sit on hard plastic devices and move down hillsides at a rapid pace or create projectiles that can be thrown at the face of an adversary.”

Bonney concluded by stating that he would be calling in sick to work and hiking into the Bighorns to enjoy backcountry snowboarding in the accumulation of white flakes.
