Holly Seed, longtime brand partner with SB, is celebrating its 100th year of service to the community.

August 15, 2015 from noon to 5:30PM, at 1967 W Fifth St (the Holly Seed offices,) Holly Seed will host a barbecue/get together celebrating 100 years. There will be provided food and drink, music, entertainment for the kids including inflatable slides and bounce houses, and a history of Holly Seed and the sugar industry in Sheridan. All of this is, of course, completely 100% free of charge.

“Why would Holly Seed do such a nice thing for the community?” you may be asking yourself.

“Whether through employment, community outreach, or consuming products that use our Sugar, Holly Seed has in one way or another touched the lives of most, if not all, families in Sheridan. We’re excited to give a little more back and celebrate our 100th year with the community. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” would be the reply from Mark Law, Holly’s GM.

“Well, what all can we look forward to?” you’re probably wondering next.

There will be a veritable smorgasbord of free goodies at the BBQ. We’re talking popcorn, cotton candy, goodie bags, snowcones; there’s going to be a whole snack van. Hamburgers, Legerski sausages, sweet corn and cake will also be available. You can wash all of that down with some delicious beverages that utilize Holly sugar as well.

As far as entertainment is concerned, there’ll be a stage at the event with a few local legends around. Josh and Amber Hansen, Canary Joe and others will serenade you from the first free Legerski wienie to the last delicious glob of cotton candy. For the kids, Holly is rolling out a ton of inflatables. Bounce houses, slides and who knows what else, again, completely free. Also, a trolley will run every hour, ferrying guests to and from the Holly Seed plant, where they can ask questions and learn more about the process.

If entertainment and food weren’t enough for you, how does free money sound? Guests of the BBQ will have the chance to win a hefty number of Chamber Bucks and prizes as well. Just by participating in the simple educational activities stationed around the grounds, guests will be entered into the raffle. Winners will be drawn at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 to win $100, $250 or $500 respectively in Chamber Bucks.

Mark Law also wants everyone to know that if you’re interested in the sugar industry, there’s a “history of sugar beets in Sheridan County” exhibit at the museum that will go all summer.

Holly Seed has been an overwhelmingly positive influence on Sheridan County for 100 years now, so stop by Aug 15th and enjoy the festivities.

P.S. The Flying Man from Let ‘Er Buck Car Wash will be making an appearance. It’s gonna be a party.
