Pies, Ranked

Much like slick, snow-covered Wyoming roads, fights over who gets to break the wishbone and your great-uncle Walter’s uncomfortably-detailed-dinner-table description of the procedure he underwent last week, pies are a cherished Thanksgiving tradition.

So we decided to rank them, utilizing a highly-complicated system wherein we basically made completely arbitrary choices.

Feel free to chime in with your opinions regarding how spot-on our list is (or isn’t) and possible additions, omissions and/or what-in-the-name-of-healthy-portions-were-you-thinking? comments. Debate can be fun and productive, unlike eating the turkey neck.

1. Pecan (The classic. But none of that chocolate pecan nonsense. Don’t get greedy.)

2. Apple Crumb

3. Lemon Meringue

4. Boston Cream (Boston is somewhere close to Plymouth, right? We’ll go with it either way.)

5. Key Lime (The Key Lime Martini at Frackelton’s may be better than the pie, though.)

6. Cherry

7. Chocolate Silk (Okay, chocoholics, here you go.)

8. Pumpkin (The deluge of pumpkin-flavored coffees, ice cream treats, cough syrups, etc. each October has killed this one.)

9. Strep Throat

10. Rhubarb
